Child Rescue joins national effort to combat human trafficking on World day against trafficking in persons
Child Rescue has joined the national initiative to combat human trafficking
On July 30, the world marks the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons — a day when millions of voices unite to remind us: human trafficking is a modern form of slavery that remains alarmingly relevant even in the 21st century. And it does not spare children.
Established by the United Nations in 2013, this day aims to draw global attention to the issue of exploitation and to express solidarity with those who have suffered from trafficking.
Sexual exploitation, forced labor, begging, criminal activity, or coerced pornography — these are not distant horrors, but everyday realities for children across the globe.
Too often, their suffering goes unnoticed. Unprotected. Unheard.
This crisis affects every country in the world — including Ukraine.
And today, amidst the war, the risks are even higher: as millions are forced to flee their homes in search of work or shelter, the likelihood of falling prey to exploitation increases dramatically.
A joint initiative — for the safety of every person
To mark this day, Child Rescue joined a nationwide information campaign initiated by the Ukrainian Migration Police Department.
Together with partners and leading experts, we contributed to the development of an informational brochure designed to help people recognize the risks of human trafficking, respond to threats, and know where to seek help.
As part of the campaign, a practical brochure was created that includes:
- clear guidance on how to identify signs of human trafficking,
- a step-by-step response plan in case of danger,
- contact details for services that provide assistance to victims.
This resource is intended for both adults and young people — especially those living in difficult circumstances or facing heightened vulnerability due to the war.

Prevention, awareness, and access to information are key tools in combating human trafficking.
