Participation in the meeting of the Expert Council under the Representative of the Commissioner for Children’s Rights

On August 5, the Executive Director of Child Rescue, Julia Sachenko, took part in a meeting of the Expert Council under the Representative of the Commissioner for Children’s Rights. The meeting focused on discussing the Standard Program and Procedure for Responding to Cases of Violence and Cruelty Against Children, an initiative led by SOS Children’s Villages Ukraine in collaboration with member organizations of the Ukrainian Child Rights Network (UCRN).

The focus of the meeting was on improving the Standard Program and the Procedure for Responding to Cases of Violence and Cruelty Against Children, which require a comprehensive review and alignment with each other.

Specialists jointly contributed to the analysis and development of a comparative table and a narrative conclusion regarding the two documents, in order to:

  • to strengthen interagency cooperation mechanisms;
  • to make the response system more effective and sensitive to the needs of the child.

    We firmly believe that effective child protection requires a clear, coordinated action algorithm at all levels — from school psychologists to the judicial system.

We sincerely thank the organizers for their initiative and coordination. We are also grateful to all participants of the meeting for the meaningful dialogue, professional expertise, and shared commitment to improving the child protection system.
